First things first… let’s have coffee! We want to get to know you and your business as best as we can before we dive into the project. The more information we know at the beginning, the more successful the collaboration will be. We want to know everything about your business and where you want to take it. The design is essentially how people will experience your brand, from the first impression to the long term customer… so we need to make sure we nail it.
Once we have gathered information about your brief, we will discuss the best approach for the project. Each approach is as individual as your business is, and there will always be more than one way to go about it. We will discuss your timelines, target markets, business opportunities, your competition, and most importantly, your vision.
So let’s meet up…It’s time to get excited!
Once we have met up, taken a look at your site and discussed your requirements, we get cracking straight away. First we create a scope of work which outlines all the areas that need some love in order to achieve your dream.
From there we start to research, brainstorm and get the creative juices flowing! We collate reference examples and inspiration from all over the globe and bring together the best ideas to suit your business. You’ll see the design concept emerge into a clear understanding of how everything will look and work for you.
Then it’s time to get technical…builders don’t understand pretty pictures! We go heads down, bum up, and start drawing, specifying, and asking important questions to suppliers to make sure every design decision is the right one.
This documentation package then gets sent to the builder for tender, and a few weeks later they emerge with a solid construction quote for you.
Throughout the whole process, we make sure you’re constantly informed and have a chance to review all of our work…we will never leave you hanging! (Although we are pretty sure you’ll love what we do!)
This is where we roll up our sleeves and really get into it. We represent you during the implementation of the project. This includes establishing project schedules, coordinating consultants, and overseeing manufacturing and construction. We visit your project regularly and make sure everything is going to plan and being built to the highest quality.
The short answer is – of course! You can be hands-off or have your prints all over the whole process. Some of our clients like to get in there with a paint brush themselves…others want to wake up one morning and see that the design-and-build fairies have been. Either works for us, as long as it works for you.
Don’t worry, we have you covered. We have sussed out some of the best in town, and now have a strong network of builders that are right for a variety of projects, depending on your needs.
Yes, and we make sure all of our suppliers are industry leaders. We like to mix our strategy with tried-and-tested veterans, as well as hunt out what’s the latest and greatest on the market. Depending on your timeline and budget, we may source product locally, or we may head overseas. We will always make sure that the products we specify are of the highest quality, and you are getting bang for buck.
We understand that design isn’t everything. In today’s world you need to be the full package. This is why we have searched high and low to collaborate with our partners who can offer killer expertise in their own fields. We’ll happily introduce you to our industry partners and you can discover for yourself why we’re mates!
This renovation stuff is expensive right?! Why not turn your project from a capital expense to an operational expense by leasing the fit-out and soft costs (Yep, that includes design and project management fees!) Dollars and Cents
Sorry, there is no straight answer here. This depends on a few things, but mainly what your project involves and what services you require from us. Generally, we work on a fixed fee which we agree on after our first meeting.
OK OK, so you want a ballpark figure. We get it. Fees usually fall between 5-10% of project cost.
It’s a good investment – if you’ve got $100.00 to spend and you spend the first $7.50 with us, we’ll make the remaining $92.50 look and work like you spend $200.00.
Big ideas and great design takes time, so it’s likely that there won’t be a one week turn around if you are after something mind blowing. However, we understand that every project has deadlines and we always work to them. The general rule is that the earlier you get us involved in the project, the happier everyone will be!
We will be able to provide you with general costings once we know what your project involves. This then creates the guidelines for the rest of the project, making sure our decisions always stick to budget.
